This beautiful Gretsch Broadkaster bass was built in Japan 2008 by Terada and it is in absolute pristine condition. Gibson Victory Artist 1981 (October 9) Number 615 USA 30000kr... Gibson released these basses to compete with the Fender P-bass back in 1981 and they really are high quality machines. Maple body and three piece maple neck, brass nut and active/passive humbuckers. The team was headed by Bruce Bolen, but the actual body/neck design was by Chuck Burge, and the electronics by Tim Shaw. The design was a rather large departure from what Gibson was making at the time. Very daring, very bold styling and very modernized solutions with its passive/ active electronics, that continued the work of the original active RD guitar series from 1977, where Gibson had teamed up with MOOG. Also the TRI-4 wedge allowed you, not only to adjust up/down, forward/backward but even side to side, for string spacing adjustments. This was also the first bass to have a rectangular steel bar on either side of the truss rod, to increase 'Structural rigidity' and to help with ‘dead spots’ and more consistent tonal response and sustain. This one comes from the estate of a music store that never sold it. So this bass is basically unplayed and is in excellent condition with the original case, with all the case candy, certificates and original strap in it!
